    A Day of Sole-Searching: One Day Without Shoes at Singapore Chinese Girls' School
    On 24 May 2024, World Vision Singapore hosted the One Day Without Shoes workshop for primary and secondary students in Singapore Chinese Girls’ School (SCGS).Students got to make their own shoes with cardboard and tape, and set off on their walk around campus literally in the shoes of children who live in vulnerable places.

    30 Hour Famine 2024: Hunger Trials
    More than 60 youths from various secondary schools, pre-tertiary institutions and universities walked in the shoes of children living in conflict and climate crises at the 30 Hour Famine 2024: Hunger Trials on 18 and 19 May 2024. Against the backdrop of Fort Canning, a major location in Singapore's conflict history, participants joined the signature 30-hour fast from food while completing team-based challenges that enabled them to be more informed and empathetic advocates for vulnerable children.

    Gratefulness: How I chose to pay it forward
    Interning at World Vision and being exposed to first-hand stories from the field really reinforced how blessed I am to live in the safety and security of Singapore. Reading the testimonies of victims of disasters who have lost all their family members or children who are fighting against exploitation sometimes moved me to tears. While I initially felt overwhelmed and helpless, I remind myself that I can play a part in supporting these vulnerable individuals through World Vision's work.

    30 Hour Famine 2023: #UNCHARTED
    From 29 to 30 May 2023, over 100 youths and young adults embarked on an exciting journey across Lazarus and Sentosa Islands at World Vision Singapore’s annual 30 Hour Famine Camp. This year, the 30 Hour Famine finally returned as an in-person day camp, and saw participants join in the signature 30 hour fast from food while completing team-based station activities aimed at increasing awareness and empathy of the struggles that children in vulnerable places face.

    From 15-17 May 2023, Hwa Chong Humanities and Current Affairs Society hosted Hwa Chong One Day Without Shoes. This event aimed to raise awareness for marginalised and disadvantaged communities living amidst poverty and water shortage globally, especially amongst the students who may have been relatively more sheltered from these issues and concerns.
