Crisis & Disaster Response
We are with Children in the World's Fragile Places to help them Survive, Recover and Rebuild Their Future
When a disaster or crisis strikes, World Vision adopts a “first-in, last-out” approach. Within 24 to 72 hours of the crisis or disaster, we first reach survivors with life-saving emergency aid, and then we stay for the long term to help children and families recover and rebuild their futures. We stand with them – before, during, and after crises and disasters.
Why It Matters
In the wake of conflict and natural disasters, lives can change in an instant.
Today, more than 473 million children are living in conflict zones, and natural disasters are hitting harder and more frequently due to climate change.
Behind every statistic is a child longing for safety, a family searching for hope.

Sri Lanka Flood Response
Sri Lanka has declared a state of emergency, and urgent support is needed to protect children and families caught in the path of Cyclone Ditwah. Torrential rains, rising floodwaters, and deadly landslides have devastated communities — leaving families stranded, homes destroyed, and thousands of children in danger. Many homes, schools and businesses still remained under water. Over 600 lives have been lost, more than 2 million people have been affected and thousands are displaced into temporary shelters. Almost one-third of the country is without electricity or running water. Our Lindula Area Programme has also been severely affected by the flooding. Despite intermittent network connectivity, our teams are on the ground working tirelessly to reach children, account for their safety, and support families in urgent need. assistance to children and families in urgent need.
World Vision aims to assist 45,000 people impacted by the floods, providing emergency relief supplies, hygiene kits, and food packs to vulnerable children and families. Your donation today will help deliver life-saving assistance to children and families in urgent need.

Cambodia Border Crisis Response
On 7 December, escalating conflict along the Cambodia–Thailand border forced over 420,000 people, including 127,000 children from Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Pursat, and Battambang provinces in Cambodia to flee their homes and seek refuge in evacuation centres. Urgent humanitarian assistance is critically needed for displaced families.
World Vision is on the ground, responding to urgent humanitarian needs by distributing hygiene kits and life-saving essentials to displaced families. We are also setting up temporary latrines, providing water purification tablets, and creating child-friendly spaces to help protect children and restore a sense of safety and care during this crisis.
A total of USD 100,000 would be needed to support the humanitarian response for displaced children and families in our Kuleaen Area Programme during this critical time. Your donation can help displaced children and families tide through this conflict crisis.
