A community facing high malnutrition, low literacy and limited livelihood.
Antique is a province located in the western part of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region. 26% live below the national poverty line. Families depend on farming and fishing to earn an income. “The Most Vulnerable Family I visited was a family of five with two young children and a newborn baby. They have no stable income due to the lack of a stable job. Their home was lightly furnished and did not have a toilet. They are grateful for the help that World Vision has rendered, such as obtaining clean water via taps in their homes.”

How you’ll be helping the community
Programs usually last 10 years or more, depending on local needs. Here’s how we go about it:
We partner with communities as they plan projects to meet their unique needs. Your sponsored child and others start to gain life’s basics. The future looks brighter!
As life improves for children, we track and celebrate progress. Communities learn what works best and set up their own systems to build on their success. The whole community benefits.
Communities become self-sufficient and can continue the work we started together. So, we celebrate and gradually move on to another area in need.
