A World With Education for All

World Vision's education programme focuses on improving the access to and quality of educational opportunities for all children from birth, through childhood and adolescence. We believe in every child's right to a quality, safe, inclusive and transformational education that empowers children for life. Every year, we help thousands of children gain access to quality education to pursue their dreams, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 4. Join us in realising our vision for children's education.

Child Sponsorship Enables Children To Be Educated

When you choose to sponsor a child, you give a child the chance to learn. To sit in a classroom, to read their first words, to discover who they can become. Your support helps strengthen education systems and shifts mindsets within communities to see the value of education.

Together, we can make education possible - one child, one community at a time.

Limited Access to Schools

Long distances to school are a barrier to children's education. Children in rural areas are more than twice as likely to miss out on primary education due to location.

Run-Down Infrastructure

Schools are often poorly maintained, with unsafe buildings and limited sanitation. Classrooms can be dark, overcrowded, and not conducive for learning.

Poor Quality of Education

A lack of trained teachers and adequate learning materials affect how well children are able to learn and keep up in school.

Economic Poverty

Children from the poorest households are far more likely to miss school. Many arrive hungry, unwell, or exhausted from work or chores.

Gender Inequality

Millions of girls are out of school. Cultural norms often keep them at home, limiting their chance to learn and build a future.

World Vision Education Programmes

Our programmes are designed to support children at every stage of their learning journey so that they can build a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Early Childhood Development

Through the Learning Roots play-based learning approach, we lay the foundation for holistic development of children aged 3 to 6 in safe learning environments. We engage caregivers to provide nurturing care and train teachers to strengthen the quality of education.

World Vision Unlock Literacy
Unlock Literacy

Our Unlock Literacy evidence-based approach enables vulnerable children to read with comprehension and develop a love of learning. It supports the professional development of teachers to build reading and literacy skills at school. It also provides parents the tools to foster literacy and learning at home.

Girls Education
Girls' Education

We work to address harmful gender norms that marginalise girls. We enable girls to get into and stay in school. We support their learning and life skills by promoting an equitable home, community and school that encourages learning.

Child-Friendly Spaces
Child-Friendly Spaces

We create safe and engaging learning environments that foster a love for learning and help reduce school dropout rates. This includes ensuring children have clean and bright classrooms with proper desks and chairs; libraries with age appropriate books and learning material.

In 2025,
65,945 children received education and life skills training for a brighter future.
