Sri Lanka Flood Response

Sri Lanka has declared a state of emergency, and urgent support is needed to protect children and families caught in the path of Cyclone Ditwah. Torrential rains, rising floodwaters, and deadly landslides have devastated communities — leaving families stranded, homes destroyed, and thousands of children in danger. Many homes, schools and businesses still remained under water. Over 600 lives have been lost, more than 2 million people have been affected and thousands are displaced into temporary shelters. Almost one-third of the country is without electricity or running water. Our Lindula Area Programme has also been severely affected by the flooding.
